Abhi Lall is a Consultant Neonatologist at King’s College Hospital, London, where he was appointed to a substantive post in 2005.
He trained at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. As an undergraduate he was awarded an Honours BSc degree in Biochemistry and went on to graduate from medical school with a distinction (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) in the MBBS finals examination, University of London.
His higher specialist training in Neonatal Medicine was at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and The Elizabeth Garrett Anderson and Obstetric Hospital at University College Hospital, London.
Abhi was awarded an MSc in clinical paediatrics from the Institute of Child Health, London. He was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1997, Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 1998 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2008.
Abhi has presented research work on perinatal immunology at national meetings and has also published work in peer-reviewed journals.
Abhi is the Newborn Unit’s lead for clinical governance which encompasses audit (both local and national), formulation of clinical guidelines and risk management. He has a major enthusiasm for teaching and regularly lectures internally and on external courses . He is also a Newborn Life Support (NLS) Instructor.
